Those of us old enough to remember Camelot, PT 109, and the mystical allure of Hyannisport also remember John F Kennedy taking on Lyndon Baines Johnson as his running mate. This was called the Southern Strategy although political science majors will always tell you that voters will always vote for President as when George Bush Senior chose an unknown and spell check candidate for Veep named Dan Quayle and still prevailed easily. Just throwing up a trial balloon, if John McCain suceeds in mending fences with the Conservatives, Huckabee would add the old Southern Strategy to what could be conceiveably and at present a highly speculative piece of conjecture but a real good possibility for the Republicans.
